JCAMS Publication Ethics Policy

Publication Ethics & Misconduct Policy

Journal of Clinical and Applied Medical Science (JCAMS)

The Journal of Clinical and Applied Medical Science (JCAMS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical responsibility in scholarly publishing. To protect the reliability and credibility of the scientific record, JCAMS enforces strict policies regarding fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, authorship misconduct, and citation manipulation across all manuscript types, including original research articles, clinical studies, reviews, case reports, rehabilitation research, healthcare science publications, and allied medical science submissions.

Fabrication, Falsification, and Misrepresentation

Authors found to have fabricated, falsified, manipulated, or misrepresented data, images, graphs, tables, clinical findings, or statements within a manuscript will face immediate editorial action.

  • Formal retraction of the published article.
  • Public notification regarding the ethical violation.
  • Reporting the misconduct to affiliated institutions or funding agencies.
  • Temporary or permanent prohibition from future submissions to JCAMS.
All actions are undertaken in accordance with internationally accepted publication ethics standards and COPE recommendations.

Post-Publication Corrections and Retractions

Correction Notices

JCAMS publishes correction notices when errors, omissions, or inaccuracies significantly affect the interpretation, integrity, or clarity of published content.

  • Mislabeled figures, tables, or clinical images.
  • Missing acknowledgments or funding information.
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest.
  • Errors affecting scientific interpretation or data presentation.
Retraction Notices

Articles may be retracted in cases involving major ethical or scientific violations.

  • Data fabrication or manipulation.
  • Plagiarism or redundant publication.
  • Undisclosed competing interests.
  • Authorship disputes or unethical authorship practices.

Retracted articles will remain accessible with a clear retraction notice and watermark to preserve the scholarly record and maintain transparency.

Articles in Press and Early Publication

Manuscripts published online ahead of issue assignment (“Articles in Press”) may be withdrawn if they violate ethical publishing standards or editorial policies.

  • Duplicate or simultaneous submission to multiple journals.
  • False authorship or contributor claims.
  • Plagiarized, fabricated, or manipulated content.
  • Breach of patient confidentiality or ethical compliance.
Withdrawn manuscripts will be replaced with an official withdrawal statement, and associated files may be removed from the journal archive when necessary.

Redundant Publication and Duplicate Submission

JCAMS only accepts original and unpublished research that is not under consideration by any other journal or publication platform.

Duplicate Submission
  • Immediate rejection of the manuscript.
  • Notification to affiliated institutions if necessary.
  • Restrictions on future submissions to JCAMS.
Overlapping or Redundant Publication

Authors must disclose all related submissions, conference papers, preprints, theses, or previously published materials connected to the manuscript.

  • Reuse of previously published figures, tables, or text must be properly acknowledged.
  • Permission from copyright holders must be obtained where required.
  • Extended versions of conference papers must contain substantial new scientific content.

Citation Manipulation

JCAMS strictly prohibits unethical citation practices intended to artificially influence citation metrics, journal rankings, or author impact indicators.

  • Excessive or irrelevant self-citation.
  • Coercive citation requests by editors or reviewers.
  • Insertion of unrelated references solely to increase citation counts.
  • Manipulation of bibliometric indicators through unethical citation behavior.

Any evidence of citation manipulation may result in editorial investigation, manuscript rejection, retraction, or sanctions against involved individuals.

Editorial Oversight and Transparency

The editorial team of JCAMS is trained to identify, investigate, and address ethical concerns and publication misconduct with fairness, confidentiality, and due diligence.

When necessary, the journal may consult independent experts, follow COPE procedures, and communicate with affiliated institutions or regulatory bodies regarding serious ethical concerns.

Authors, reviewers, editors, and readers are encouraged to report any concerns regarding publication misconduct or ethical violations to the JCAMS Editorial Office.

Important Notice

Failure to comply with JCAMS ethical publishing policies may result in manuscript rejection, article retraction, institutional notification, removal from indexing services, and temporary or permanent restriction from future submissions to the journal.
