Plagiarism Policy

Journal of Clinical and Applied Medical Science (JCAMS)

The Journal of Clinical and Applied Medical Science (JCAMS) maintains a strict and uncompromising policy regarding plagiarism and academic misconduct. Preserving scientific credibility, ethical publication practices, and research integrity is a core responsibility of the journal, its editors, reviewers, and contributing authors. Any form of plagiarism is considered unacceptable and may result in immediate editorial action.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes unethical use, reproduction, or presentation of intellectual, scientific, or academic content without appropriate acknowledgment.

  • Copying text, tables, figures, images, or datasets from published or unpublished sources without proper citation.
  • Presenting another researcher’s concepts, interpretations, methodologies, or findings as original work.
  • Reproducing substantial portions of previously published material without permission or acknowledgment.
  • Improper paraphrasing or close imitation of another author’s writing or scientific work.
  • Republishing previously published content without disclosure, citation, or editorial approval (“self-plagiarism”).
  • Submitting duplicate, overlapping, or simultaneously submitted manuscripts to multiple journals.

Screening and Detection

Every manuscript submitted to JCAMS undergoes comprehensive plagiarism assessment using trusted plagiarism detection software alongside detailed editorial evaluation.

The editorial board and peer reviewers may additionally assess originality, authenticity, scientific integrity, and ethical compliance during the review process.

JCAMS reserves the right to conduct plagiarism screening at any stage of submission, peer review, editing, publication, or post-publication review.

Editorial Action

Before Publication

If plagiarism or unethical duplication is identified during editorial review, the manuscript may be subject to the following actions:

  • Returned to the author(s) for correction and proper citation.
  • Placed on temporary hold pending clarification or investigation.
  • Rejected immediately in cases of serious, repeated, or intentional plagiarism.

Major ethical violations may also result in restrictions on future submissions to JCAMS.

After Publication

If plagiarism or unethical publication practices are discovered after publication, JCAMS reserves the right to take corrective action.

  • Retraction of the published article.
  • Publication of an official correction or retraction notice.
  • Removal of the article from archives or indexing platforms where applicable.
  • Notification to the author’s institution, funding body, or relevant academic authority.

Author Responsibility

By submitting a manuscript to JCAMS, all authors confirm and declare that:

  • The submitted work is original, authentic, and scientifically accurate.
  • Proper acknowledgment and citation have been provided for all referenced materials.
  • The manuscript does not contain plagiarized, fabricated, or manipulated data.
  • The manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • All co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript before submission.

Authors bear full responsibility for the ethical integrity and originality of their work.

JCAMS follows internationally recognized publication ethics and adheres to the principles, standards, and recommendations established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The journal is committed to maintaining transparency, accountability, scientific excellence, and ethical publishing practices in clinical medicine, healthcare sciences, rehabilitation sciences, allied health sciences, and biomedical research.

Important Notice

Failure to comply with this plagiarism policy may result in manuscript rejection, article retraction, institutional notification, and temporary or permanent restriction from future submissions to the journal.
